Disease is bad, cures are Good. I care about finding higher-order levers to pull so we can make more cures.

I did my PhD at the University of Edinburgh on RNA/gene therapeutics and viral vectors for cardiovascular disease. Before that, I did math stuff on evolutionary genetics and worked on the DNA helicase subunit CDC45 in yeast.

I like to work with Good people on big-if-true, risky things. After my PhD, I joined Norn Group to help industrialize a truth-seeking aging field. I also write for various blogs, mostly about biology, and sometimes about free speech in Britain or metascience.
